Monday Morning Blahg

Okay, so, of all the stuff I could possibly be stressed by, one of them is now that my simplistic site with damask, that I completely adore, might be too similar to another blogger who fell of the planet’s previous blog design, so I’m a bit … in-between designs, so to speak. I have some sincere issues, I think. I really want to simplify and brighten up my site a bit, and possibly also change parts of the site-setup. My blog might get the direct link from rebeccastorevik.com instead of the /blog behind.

Today, I went for a walk with a friend for five hours. Spending the days I have off of work in the best way imaginable. In the sun (turned rain turned snow turned sun again), with a smoothie with strawberry, lime, vanilla and chili, and just enjoying the world. She also brought her puppy, since the point of the entire walk was to tire him for a long train trip in the end of those five hours. It was neat. No makeup, though, partly because I have a cold, and partly because I couldn’t be bothered. I’ve carefully started planning my photo challenge, and I think I might have to do one picture a day to actually manage to push through with 26 pictures in a month. Yes, I’m that lazy. Or that perfectionist. Strike out the one that seems least correct.

And honestly, when is this okay? I understand not wanting your child to be hurt, but when has bumping your head ever done anything to a kid other than teach them that falling down is less than cool, so it’s better to stay on your feet? I think I’d prefer the bump on my forehead than having to wear this ANYWHERE as a child.

Now that sun has reared it’s head for more than two hours at a time for SEVERAL DAYS, almost in a row, it’s most definitely spring here in Bergen, so, my dreams of an ice cream machine with a built-in-compressor and no need to pre-freeze any freezer element has yet again grown to the point that I got one. What spurred it, you may ask? This recipe. Yeah. It might be an addiction, but I don’t care, baby.

Link Dump!

We’re not that different.

Can you tell I want it to be summer?

Or maybe I’m just hungry…

Uh.. Hungry..

Yeah. I literally just left this post open for an hour or so because I was surfing snorgtees, ditched that, went over to foodgawker, and now I’m gonna make some dinner. Hah. I will publish my 350 Twitter followers-giveaway as soon as possible, just some … logistics I need to overcome before that. Hope you’re all having a nice Monday so far!

Your turn!

What’re your plans for pesach/easter/eostre/spring equinox?

What’s the best thing you ate the last week? (I said I was hungry)

How’s the weather where you’re at?

What’s your favourite (seasonal) candy?

Monday Morning Blahg

Well, Sunday night. Honestly, it’s all in a days work, isn’t it. I’m supposed to work early tomorrow, which is to say 7 AM to 1 PM, so I know better than to believe I’m gonna be in any shape for blogging. I never really find the time for that when I’m too busy reading a book, or watching TV, or bothering my cat with a piece of string with a toy attached to the end… As I always tend to be when I work early.

Right, as I now remember, I never told you how my exams went. They all went over very well, the ones I was sure I was gonna fail I both landed Bs on, so there’s no complaining from me! So, now I may be going to University this fall, if everything goes as it should, and no problems arise. I am really glad about that, needless to say.

I’m not really sure what to write here, as I haven’t been keeping tabs on the online world properly since before Christmas. So I’m just gonna do a link dump, like always.

Not so happily ever after.

I’m getting an ice cream machine! And I’m making this! Surprised?

Does everyone still love nutella?

ManGlaaaaze. *drools*

I haven’t read, nor seen the Hunger Games. But I love this.

I’m gonna start wearing veils.

One of my good friends has a puppy now. He’s a shiba inu. He’s adorable.

Hi.

Erhm. Long time no see? Heh. It’s always a bit awkward getting back to blogging after not doing it for a while. It’s like, you feel like you forgot an appointment and then the person you forgot your appointment with shows up at your work the next day. You’re both trying SO HARD to pretend nothing is awkward, but it ends up making stuff worse. So yeah. That’s how I feel, and it’s made getting back into blogging a lot harder than it had to be.

A few things.

There will be a giveaway here soon, barring everyone hating me and wanting me to stop blogging forever.

I’m going to be doing a new photo challenge in April. There will be two of each picture, in each of thirteen categories. I will blog them.

1. Dark
2. Glow
3. Smile
4. Weather
5. New
6. Round
7. Tangle
8. Up in the air
9. Patterns
10. Tomorrow
11. Eye
12. A sign
13. A Self Portrait

I won’t be doing any EOTDs and stuff before I get my brows waxed or threaded or something. They aren’t BAD, they never really are, they just look a bit ungroomed.

I will try to post more reviews, in-depth and with swatches and stuff. I’m also going through a bit of a makeup dry-period, so I’m shopping my stash.

Other than that, what do you want to see? What can you control your lust for seeing?

Should I start doing my Monday Morning Blahg again,or was I the only one who enjoyed those?

And, to make this look like it’s not the most boring blog post ever, some pictures!

Oh yeah, I will be doing a makeover of the site, too,by the way. Simplifying some things, changing some things completely. I think the current theme is a bit too dark. I want my site to be easy to read and easy to browse. I’m open for suggestions!

The Morbid The Merrier, Evil Shades, Whimsy Beading.

Smell nice, and sparkle, both on your eyes and in your ears!

Both Whimsy Beading and Evil Shades have teamed up with The Morbid The Merrier, and for a limited time, buying for more than $25 at TMTM will get you 15% off at Evil Shades! On the note of TMTM, I did some pictures, inspired by her lovely scent “We all Float Down here”, in turn inspired by Stephen King’s It!

The Morbid The Merrier – We All Float Down Here

Mini hiatus

Sorry I have been  an awful blogger lately – but I’ll be taking a small hiatus now, because of my exams, and for training to my new job! I got a call about test-shifts at my favourite coffee place in town today, so it’s time to make the hiatus official. I will return, though! But between the three exams I’m doing, and the barista-training, I need to not worry about blogging on top of it. In the meantime – buy from Detrivore, who has a huge 10/$20 sale going on, remember that The Morbid The Merrier has moved on from Etsy and onto their own site, and start scrounging money for Black Friday sales! Don’t forget your actual Christmas shopping either! You know … The one for other people.

Old poetry made new – Stick and Bind

I am a flower – without any light
I am a sun – that walks at night
I am a shadow – shining bright
I’m standing close – but I’m out of sight

I’m feeling cold – but heating you
I’m surreal and false – but always true
I’ve got so many – but know so few
I should be happy – but am so blue

I gave you the words – you never know what they meant
Your smell of sweat – with a sweeter scent
Picture perfect – pieces bendt
You borrowed my heart – never paid the rent

Darkest of souls – dancing in white
Killing the moon – with all it’s might
Saying it wrong – knowing it’s right
Letting you loose – but beeing held tight

Nothing of digits – you still call it math
Peaceful by nature – so full of wrath
Feeling so dirty – while lying in the bath
Walking alone – without any path

Holding hands – with nobody there
Keep a secret – your sort is rare
Hate me with love – it’s my biggest fear
And show me – somehow – that you really care

Old poetry made new – Roses kiss

Kissed by a rose – that never withers – never dies
Never laughs – never smiles – and never cries
Wanting – lusting – knowing is lies
Kissed by something – that soon gives goodbyes

Under a willow – with pounding pride
Not so narrow – and still not wide
Kissed by someone – a kiss that died
Kiss from a live groom – for a corpse bride

With feelings mixed – like a potion divine
Knowing I want it – but it won’t be mine
Drinking my feelings – like a cup of wine
Knowing it’s broken – but it feels so fine

Cigarette smoke – glowing at night
Knowing it’s dark – but it feels so bright
Falling in love – with shadows delight
Hearing your lies – but they feel so right

I think my heart – that I once froze
That since then – is overgrown with throes
I think it’s crushing – and still I pose
For I’ve fallen in love – with a rose

Sweet Samhain – Lady of the Lake

Today’s post is a guest post from Erin! Read on to see her Lady of the Lake FOTD!

Today’s look is inspired by the Lady of the Lake (or Viviane, Elaine,
Nimeu, Nivian, take your pick). She is a character who plays a part in
several Arthurian legends, including: Giving Excalibur to King Arthur,
enchanting Merlin and raising Lancelot after his father dies. Man,
that girl was busy! Anywho, I wanted a strong but serene look with
lots of different shades of blue. I also, for some reason, picture her
as a blonde so I pulled out my wig. :D That thing gets around! Hehehe.
Ok, on to the breakdown…

First I applied my eyeshadow as I didn’t want the fallout to mess with
my foundation. After brushing on my Morgana Cryptoria Socket to Me
primer, I applied Shiro Cosmetic eyeshadow in Detective to the inner
part of my lid, Geek Chic Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Across the Narrow Sea
to the middle of my lid and then Evil Shades Eyeshadow in Reonite to
the outer part of the lid, blending it out to create a triangle shape.
Next, I applied Fyrinnae Eyeshadow in Conjour to the crease, blending
this on the top part of the aqua shape. Then, after applying Pixie
Epoxy over the top of these shadows in my crease and letting it set, I
patted on Morgana Cryptoria’s Oogling Orge eyeshadow in a line. I also
patted some Pixie Epoxy in the inner corner of my eye (and applied
Morgana Cryptoria’s Cornea and Shiro Cosmetics’ Puzzle Cube eyeshadows
over top) and under my lash lower lash line (where I first drew a line
of Fyrinnae’s Immortal eyeshadow, then topped it with a little Urban
Decay Black Dog and then lined the bottom part with Evil Shade’s
Spellcaster eyeshadow). I finished up by highlighting my brow bone
with Geek Chic Cosmetic’s Kingslayer eyeshadow and applying a ton of
mascara. Oh! And I also filled my brows with Across the Narrow Sea.

For my face, I first applied a mixture of tinted moisturizer and
foundation all over. Then, using Spellcaster, I contoured my bone
structure (starting with my cheeks, then my forehead then along my jaw
line then down the bridge of my nose). Next, I took Conjour and added
it to the contouring to darken it up a bit. I also used it as blush. I
then patted on a very sparkly highlight lotion to my upper cheekbones
and on top and below my lips. I finished everything up by first
applying Geek Chic Cosmetic’s KAOS Joystick to my lips; I used a lip
brush because this formula is soooo creamy and lovely… also a little
goes a long way. I topped that with a layer of Morgana Cryptoria’s
Violet Skies lipgloss and patted a little Puzzele Cube in the center
of my lips.

And that’s it! Blending everything to get a nice gradient took the
most time but this look is easier than it seems. I love how it turned
out. Thank you SO much to Rebecca for letting me do this guest look
for her. Have a very Sweet Samhain and remember, circle of salt keeps
the ghosts out! ;)

Team Pink Eye – I believe in pink.

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

- Audrey Hepburn

This week is my turn to post for Team Pinkeye, a project I’ve been working on since … either July or August, I can’t remember. We’ve had a great month, with some great bloggers and shops, and sometimes even a combination. Big pink kisses for all of you. I had planned an EOTD for today, but it had to take the backburner for a while. Instead, you’ll just have to deal with me posting a giveaway instead. I will be doing a giveaway for The Chequered Lily Apothecary’s stacker for BCA. Proceeds from the set will be donated to Team Pinkeye at Susan G. Komen at the end of the month, and Kimberly has also most graciously donated a set for us to give away! To enter, all you have to do is donate at least $5 to our team at Susan G. Komen, and comment on my blog (or any other blog hosting a giveaway) with the name you donated under and an email we can contact you on! (All giveaways are sponsored by the bloggers/stores themselves, and not the Komen foundation)

Stacker of pink goodness!
